Hello parents,
We had a wonderful first week. We had an egg dropping challenge that the students loved. We cleaned up our garden pulling weeds and watering. 
Thank you for snack to those who brought it last week. I wanted to let you know what kind of pets we have in the room. We have a Peninsula Cooter Turtle, two bunnies, and two finches. We will help throughout the year with buying supplies for these animals. I will post a wejoinin sheet for dates you can help. A permission slip will be coming home tomorrow for pets in case you want to have your student avoid feeding or touching the pets. Please return it if you have issue with pets.
Your student will need a small (mini) notebook. We are talking tiny! They need the kind that is only four inches by 3 inches approximately. It is for a vocabulary challenge we are doing. Some students still haven’t brought their plant. Our classroom is a botany room. They will need this plant for all kinds of lessons and experiments (kind ones) to learn about the plant kingdom. Thank you!
Remember the pancake breakfast/5K fundraiser is on September 19. Sixth grade students need to participate in these fundraisers as part of their Redwood Field Trip participation. Your student will get to sign up for fundraisers and committees this week. Please support your student in getting to and participating in these events.
I look forward to next week. We will be introducing work cycle, have more team building and we will be assessing the students.
