Dear parents,
This is a special week at our school; it is literacy week! This Thursday evening we are having a literacy party for you and your families. There will be fun and games to celebrate. Each day this week the school is highlighting literacy. We are doing a school wide word wall with each letter of the alphabet in the halls. We are all doing a door-decorating contest that celebrates literacy. Does anyone want to help me with that-eeeek! Your student in our class gets to come dressed as their favorite book character on Friday. We will also be having a read-a-thon on Friday afternoon with the whole school! Snacks are encouraged. We will be doing other activities in class for literacy. Please come support our efforts on Thursday evening from 6-8.
Thank you to those who have brought in their soil and seeds. We still need for those who haven’t to help us with our garden cause. It will be epic. We are creating a pumpkin patch, a chamomile and spearmint garden as well as our regular garden box. We will be starting our seedlings now for May. I want each child to participate so each donation helps. Plus, please remember we need pet supplies. I am the only teacher in the school that provides birds, turtle, snake, beta fish and bunnies as class pets. This highly enriches the students’ experience, but it costs a lot.
